Kenneth Haldeman has been a professional real estate developer and builder for 30 years. Working with numerous world renowned architects, designers and business leaders, his artistic vision and exposure to award winning architectural creations and enigmatic construction materials have been shaping his artistic enthusiasm for years with ideas of mixed-media impressions. Kenneth regained interest in abstract art in 2017, years after graduating with a degree in fine arts and education in 1986. He is currently creating expressionistic paintings and two-dimensional sculpture in Chicago.
His paintings use a wide combination of building materials and abandoned or found elements from demolition projects. Wood, metal, ash and plaster along with acrylics, charcoal and pastels, allow for heavy spontaneous textures to emerge on canvas and heavy timber. He is always experimenting, pushing imagination and technique, to capture raw unapologetic lines of accident, chaos and emotion.
